Golf - Valle Del Este 

The Valle del Este golf course was designed by Jose Canales Galvez and opened in 2002.
 
The course is an 18 hole, par 71 course of approximately 5700 metres (white tees) covering 56 hectares. The course offers a mixture of well playable holes for all levels of golf ability and holes that represent a real challenge for more the experienced golfer.
 
An unusual feature of the golf course, the tees are positioned on a small raised platform, as well as wide generous fairways. Golf prices range from 30 Euro per round for 18 holes, with buggies and golf trolleys available.
 
Sunday in Karen's bar (in the commercial centre by the hotel) offers a friendly 9 hole competition. 20 Euros includes a beer and 5 Euros in the pot for prizes.  What better way to meet up with fellow golfers and enjoy a round?
 
The course is challenging and fun, with all abilities welcomed. Clubs are available for hire from the pro shop, alternatively there is a set of clubs in the apartment.  We have two good sets that can be used.
 
All you will need to bring is soft spiked golf shoes, balls, and tees.
 
The course has a fantastic covered driving range, with several putting and chipping areas available to help you brush up your game.  Please ensure you are wearing the correct attire for practicing and playing on the course.
 
The pro shop at Valle Del Este will help you book courses in the local area, just pop in and say hello, they are more than happy to help.

Valle Del Este is the Premier Course in the area

 

At par 71, the three par 5’s are all reachable with two good hits by tour-pro’s, but when you gamble and miss, you will pay the price. For the beginner, spectacular as they may look, they can be managed without difficulty by 3 or 4 more conservative shots.

 

The par 3’s, two of them uphill, are all completely different. Number 2, a long uphill hole with a large green requires a well struck long iron or fairway wood. Holes 6 and 14 can be reached with a mid- iron, and even a missed shot still leaves an opportunity for an up and down. Valle del Este’s signature hole 12 however is a challenge.. Hit the putting surface and you have a very challenging undulating putt!

Many a golfer will wish to return to the driving-range before teeing of on this hole to get another 50 practice shots in. Short means reload, long, two small bunkers wait. This hole, simply one of the best par 3’s in Spain.

 

This is clearly the best kept and most popular course in the area...

Desert Springs - 15 mins from Valle Del Este 
 

Desert Springs golf course is one of the best golf resorts in the whole of Spain.

It is located in Almeria Spain close to the popular tourist resort of Mojacar and the more traditional Spanish resorts of Garrucha and Vera Playa.  The Indiana golf course was opened in 2002 to full USGA specifications with quality standards to rival the famous desert courses of Arizona and California. The par 72 course is 6173 yards in length and Europe's only desert golf course.

Aguilon - 30 mins from Valle Del Este

The golf course is set high in the Sierra Aguilon hills overlooking the Mediterranean Sea in the Province of Almeria and close to the border of Murcia. It is situated close to the town of Pulpi, the beautiful tourist resort of San Juan de los Terreros and a short drive from the larger tourist resorts of Mojacar Playa, Vera and Garrucha.

Lorca Golf & Spa Resort is situated between the historic Spanish town of Lorca and a few minutes from the Mediterranean sea and beaches at Aguilas. The golf course is about a one hour drive from the tourist resort of Mojacar and a 40 minutes drive from the resort of Vera Playa
